Common Short Code Administration (CSCA)
The Common Short Code Administration or CSCA for short, handles all of the SMS short codes in the United States. Neustar holds a contract with the CSCA that allows them to administer all of the short codes used in the United States. Standards set the length of a common short code at 5 or 6 digits with major carriers using fewer digits for in-house programs. Leasing a random short code from Neustar will cost $500 per month while a code of choice runs $1,000 per month.
DialMyCalls utilized the short code ‘80123’ for SMS broadcasts sent out through our system. As of June 1, 2021, wireless carriers will no longer allow shared short codes to be used – instead customer’s of DialMyCalls will need to use a toll-free vanity number or local vanity number to send out text messages. Dedicated short codes are still available for purchase, please contact us for more information.
